I’ve been trying to make the most of my mornings before work and my evenings when I get home.
-waking up earlier (after going to sleep earlier)
-walking Herman at 6am for 20-30 minutes
-cutting out the morning pastries I’d been growing accustomed to, and eating a more nutritious breakfast
-after work, taking the dog on another good walk (this is as much for me as for him)
-taking luxurious baths regularly
-reading a new book (The English Monster)
-cooking/eating meals that are easy to prepare (I just don’t have the time to spend hours cooking and cleaning dishes every night)
-going back to more whole grains, nuts, fruits, and vegetables, which I’d been neglecting
-staying at the beach where my boyfriend lives (I’m just so much happier out here – I think when my lease is up I will try to live in the “Beaches” area, even though I’m sure I can’t afford to live right on the beach)
-getting a pedicure and manicure (something I don’t think I’d done since my first year of college – definitely not a regular habit now, but a really nice indulgence this weekend)
Something I haven’t done much of but plan to start is going swimming, whether in the ocean or the pool. I’m also getting the itch to start running again.
Made a little platter yesterday while reading Real Simple that reminded me of one of my first posts on this blog, last July.
Mashed up avocado on toast isn’t pretty, but it’s so good (with lime juice, garlic salt, and cumin).
Herman enjoying the view:
