Snapshots From Recent Days

As for today, I took the day off to catch up on things I need to do, especially since I’m working Saturday. Doctor’s appt., personal training session, trip to the dry cleaner, laundry, etc. But what I really want to do is relax.

Days In the Life

Snapshots from recent days, taken with a variation of phones and camera phones, to serve little other purpose than documentation of sorts. Certainly not a thinly veiled excuse to post a few photos of myself for the first time in ages.

Recent football games

FL/GA
The entire time I was in college I never went to a single football game, never tailgated, never even watched a game on TV, and look at me now.

The distinctly smaller-scale game pictured above is my old, quite rural, high school’s homecoming. It was a big night: the school celebrated its 100-year-anniversary and, separately, retired the jersey number of a current NFL player who graduated in my class.

Favorite tomato sauce
The extremely heavy-on-the-butter tomato sauce I used to make on an almost weekly basis, but haven’t had since I left Gainesville. It is as delicious as I remember, but also leaves me feeling pretty bad (not the sauce’s fault, really, I just can’t restrain myself from overdoing it when I’m near the stuff). I don’t think I’ll try it again anytime soon. After I finish this batch, that is.

Cookies (from storebought dough)
Since my boyfriend doesn’t have basic baking staples in his kitchen, and I was craving dessert on an urgent basis without wanting to spend money on said ingredients, I went for some store-bought Toll House cookie dough. Oh well, still warm out and chewy out of the oven.

Going to yoga
On my way to a yoga class. I felt so legitimate, wearing yoga pants to do yoga for once. The most action those pants usually get is me changing position in my chair in front of the computer (I often keep my feet curled under me until they fall asleep…wait, am I really describing this in detail?). So this is the funny thing about yoga, and exercise in general. It’s actually work. I mean, I talk about wanting to do yoga a lot, and I like the idea of it, but I have to admit I was a little caught off guard when it ceased to be an aspiration and I found myself actually trying to balance and pushing my body’s limits and, you know, shaking and failing miserably (if there were such thing as failing in yoga).

Note that a year ago this month I committed to posting creative daily outfit photos as part of a fashion blogging challenge. These days? I’m wearing the same hoody in both pictures above. I think it’s time to bring back the occasional fashion post.

Old outfits

Days gone by.

Speaking of days, tomorrow is a big one, I’m scared, and I need to go to bed.
